From now on, all projects in Studio are developed in PHP 8 as a minimum.

As of February 2022, including the upcoming release of Laravel 9 (February 8, 2022, if all goes according to plan), the minimum version of PHP in our Studio on which projects are developed is PHP 8, with PHP 8.1 if available. And yes, there is a difference between the two. A project that successfully runs on PHP 8.0.x does not necessarily take off with PHP 8.1.x 👨🚀
The new version of PHP not only provides interesting development features (such as the Nullsafe operator), but also greatly increases performance thanks to JIT (Just-in-time) technology. You can see an example of this implementation even on this site. We do not devote much time to our site, but the loading speed of the pages is close to lightning speed (well, except those pages with a lot of static picture files).
